The Inn at Spanish Bay™

Tucked between Del Monte Forest and the Pacific Ocean — the most romantic and most dramatic of the three Pebble Beach Resorts® properties.

The Inn at Spanish Bay™ sits at the northern end of the 17-Mile Drive, where the Del Monte Forest meets the Pacific coastline. Every guest room features a gas-burning fireplace and, in most cases, a private patio or balcony overlooking the forest, fairways, or open ocean. Rooms range from 470 to 2,100 square feet — the Spanish Bay Suite offers a dining/conference table for 10 and a grand piano.

The Inn overlooks The Links at Spanish Bay®, currently closed for a full Gil Hanse redesign and scheduled to reopen April 17, 2027. When it reopens, guests of The Inn will have the most direct access to play the redesigned course — the only true links-style course at Pebble Beach Resorts®, designed with ocean-exposed dunes, firm fast fairways, and views across the Pacific on every hole.

The bagpiper is The Inn's defining evening ritual: a lone Scottish piper begins at the first tee in front of STICKS restaurant and plays for 45 minutes, finishing at the Spanish Bay fire pits beside the second green at sunset. It happens every day, rain or shine.

With more than 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, The Inn's Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 800 guests — the largest event capacity at Pebble Beach Resorts®. The Peppoli Lawn overlooks the Pacific Coast and is one of the most dramatic outdoor event settings in California.

The Inn at Spanish Bay™ is the natural base for Monterey golf packages that prioritise the Links at Spanish Bay® and Spyglass Hill® — both accessible on foot or by a short shuttle. Monterey Golf Tours books The Inn as part of IAGTO Pebble Beach packages, typically for groups who prefer the Spanish Bay setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does The Links at Spanish Bay® reopen?

The Links at Spanish Bay® is scheduled to reopen April 17, 2027, following a full redesign by Gil Hanse. Guests of The Inn at Spanish Bay™ will have direct access to the redesigned course. We're taking group waitlist requests now — get in touch to secure early tee times.

What is the bagpiper tradition at The Inn?

A lone Scottish bagpiper begins at the first tee of The Links at Spanish Bay® in front of STICKS restaurant every evening and plays for approximately 45 minutes, finishing at the Spanish Bay fire pits by the second green as the sun sets over the Pacific. It happens every day of the year, rain or shine — and is one of the most memorable moments of a Pebble Beach stay.

Can I stay at The Inn at Spanish Bay™ as part of a Monterey golf package?

Yes. Monterey Golf Tours includes The Inn at Spanish Bay™ in Pebble Beach golf packages through our IAGTO agreement. It’s the ideal base for groups focused on Spyglass Hill®, with easy access to all five Pebble Beach Resorts® courses.

Is The Inn at Spanish Bay™ better than The Lodge for a golf trip?

It depends on the trip. The Inn suits groups who prefer the dramatic Pacific-facing setting. The Lodge is closer to Pebble Beach Golf Links®. Monterey Golf Tours can advise based on your itinerary and course priorities.

Can The Inn host our corporate golf event?

Yes — The Inn has over 14,000 square feet of meeting space, with the Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 800 guests. The Peppoli Lawn provides a panoramic outdoor space overlooking the Pacific coast. Combined with access to all five Pebble Beach Resorts® golf courses, it's well-suited for large-scale corporate events. We handle the full coordination.

How does The Inn differ from The Lodge?

The Lodge frames the 18th green of Pebble Beach Golf Links® and is the historic heart of the resort. The Inn is the more modern property, set in the dunes and forest at the northern end of the 17-Mile Drive with an entirely different character — more intimate, more coastal, with the links course directly outside and the bagpiper each evening. Both offer the same 18-month tee time booking advantage.

Can I stay at The Inn at Spanish Bay™ as part of a Monterey golf package?

Yes. Monterey Golf Tours includes The Inn at Spanish Bay™ in Pebble Beach golf packages through our IAGTO agreement. It’s the ideal base for groups focused on the Links at Spanish Bay® and Spyglass Hill®, with easy access to all five Pebble Beach Resorts® courses.
